THE INSPECTORS

Sometime this year, one of the dailies reported about the efforts of Progressive Party Alliance chieftains to woo chief Raph Uwazuruike of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra(MASSOB}to join their political party, and the laters intention to consider the Suggestion. According to the Chieftain,it will enable them secure permanent bail for Uwazuruike who was incalcerated for two years ago by the vindictive government of President Obasanjo and has been granted a temporal bail due to the death of his mother by the incumbent President Umar Yardua.It might please you to recall that Uwazuruike was charged with treasonable felony by the Nigerian Government for asking for independence for his oppressed tribe of Eastern Nigeria alongside with Asiri Dokubo,Fredrick Fashau who were demanding the same freedom for their own people too.The later two were freed by President Obasanjo before planting his stooge to step aside from government.
What  has not been made clear is whether joining a political party is one of the conditions Uwazuruike must fulfil inorder to be granted bail in the first place. Even if it is,it will be suicidal for Uwazuruike on any account to give in to the pressure of joining a political party which he belonged to before giving the birth to Massob.First reason is that the conditions that necessitated the formation of Massob has never changed,and the politicians of Eastern block of the country who are luring him back to political party have not at their various times shown patriotism to their tribe.So the pursuit to my thinking is to gag him from talking about those neglected issues that challenge their conscience before the people they pretend to represent.The politicians want to truncate the Massob project to make him like one of them.
They think to ride on his back to win election in the East having become the love of the region.
What Uwazuruike should remember is that no one can achieve this feat by compromise. Ojukwu, for example who went through the political party to see whether he will achieve his ambition was fraustrated by the political cabals in Nigeria simply for being Ibo,Alex Ekwueme suffered the same.Therefore, nursing the thought to do so will mean saying goodbye to the objectives of Massob.Massob has international recognition but PPA activities end in Nigeria.Uwazuruike by implication would be telling the whole World he read his manifesto  not to take him serious,and to his people that they are yet to see the expected leader.I don’t know how he will face the parents of the youths who lost their lives following uwazuruike for this five years or his people who pledged their resources in support of this vision.It will also mean that he did not buy the hearts of Nelson Mandela,Ghandi,Luther King Jnr etc whom he purported to understudy.He has dashed forever hope of liberation of his people,at least,in near decade to come.He should know he is bartering a giant stride with minor.
If indeed he considers his activities patriotic,should leave political stage to selfish Nigeria politicians to concentrate on this matchless thought.To prove his detractors wrong who accused him raising a movement  for selfish ends and unpopularity in Peoples Democratic Party where he once belonged.
Uwazuruike cannot attend more than governorship position in Nigeria should he join political party.No vision is worth prosecuting if the visioner cannot give all he has for it’s attainment.sacrifice is a seal of a great vision.

The politicians to me are like what Samballat and Tobiah were to Nehemiah.
